Burning Issue Of Bangladesh
Introduction
- Today’s Bangladesh was earlier a part of Pakistan. The name of Bangladesh didn’t exist at that time, which was called East Pakistan. Pakistan was a place of two names, one is West Pakistan and another was East Pakistan. In the region of Panjab and Sindh of west Pakistan , the political leaders had more dominants as compare to east Pakistan.
- At that time in East Pakistan, the population of Bengali Muslims was more and the leadership of West Pakistan used to treat the people of East Pakistan a little differently and used to discriminate against them but here One thing was that the population of East Pakistan was very high as compared to West Pakistan and the seats of East Pakistan in the Pakistan National Assembly were also more and due to this, in the year 1970, Pakistan The famous leader of East Pakistan was Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was the father of Sheikh Hasina who has just left Bangladesh. So, he had won the election at that time, but even after winning the election, the leader of West Pakistan was It was the leadership that refuses to accept him as the PM. Now when Sheikh Mujibur Rehman is not allowed to become the PM of Pakistan, he says that even after winning the election, I am not allowed to become the PM. So, this thing. They get angry and with the support of India, they formed Mukti Bani Army and fought with Pakistan in the year 1971 and liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan.
- Now Bangladesh has in the war of independence that was fought with Pakistan, along with Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, there was a senior military officer, Ziaur Rahman, he also played a big role. In the war that was going on against Pakistan, there was guerrilla warfare which was based on strategy etc. Ziaur Rahman had played a very important role in it. He was very close to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at that particular time. Later on, they separated but at that particular time both of them were very close. In fact, when Bangladesh When independence was achieved, it was Ziaur Rahman who announced independence on the radio at the behest of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
- Well, when Bangladesh was fighting for independence against Pakistan, then he at the time, there were many such groups on the side of Bangladesh like Jamaat-e- Islami did not want Bangladesh to be formed and Pakistan to be divided into two parts, so instead of supporting Bangladesh, such groups supported the military of Pakistan, in fact Jamaat-e- Islami did not want Al Badr and Al Shams, these two groups were formed, due to which Pakistan Army got a lot of help in carrying out operations in Bangladesh and they killed the women and general public of Bangladesh a lot. They and such groups were at that time. It was called “ Razakar”, this is a very negative word, it is used like a traitor inside Bangladesh, so see the three people I just told you about, Ziaur Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islami, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the current situation that is going on, that situation. There is a link to these three, that is why I am telling you about them, just wait a little, you will understand further.
1971
- So, see, now Bangladesh had become independent under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and after independence in the year 1971. Elections are conducted in Bangladesh in which Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Awami Party wins with huge votes and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman becomes the PM and he is also called the “Father of the Nation”, however today the situation is different, today his effigies are erected. They are being broken but at that particular time they were respected a lot, so see, when he became the PM, as soon as he became the PM, those people who had betrayed Bangladesh in the freedom struggle like Jamaat-e- Islami, which was in support of Pakistan, were the first of all this organization was banned. At this time, the people of Jamaat Islami had either gone underground or gone to Pakistan and those who were left were being caught and put in jail saying that they are “Razakars”, traitors,
- Now Bangladesh will get independence and After Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became the PM, one thing happened for which Bangladesh had to pay a huge loss and the current situation has its roots in this particular incident, so what happens in the fight for independence from Pakistan. The Mukti Vahini group that was formed by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to fight was added to the Bangladesh military after independence and was given the status of freedom fighter. The people of Mukti Bahini had great faith in Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's inclination was towards Mukti Bahani and because they had fought together at that time, they used to do as they were told by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, so after independence, when he became the PM, he got many Favors also. Now when the fighters of Mukti Bani were included in the Bangladesh Army, there were two good people in the Bangladesh Army. One was the people of Mukti Bani and the other was at that particular time when East Pakistan was not separated. Earlier, they were in Pakistan Army. These were the people who used to come and go from East Pakistan to West Pakistan. At that time, their postings were also in different parts. There were many officers whose old heads were from Pakistan i.e. West Pakistan.
- So, this particular group within the army was inclined towards Pakistan, hence two groups were formed in the Bangladesh Army, out of which one group had a soft corner for Pakistan and the other group was in Favor of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Lived in and because he fought together with the soldiers of India, he was pro Indian, so Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
1972
- After becoming PM in the year 1972, took such a step for the people of Mukti Bahani which benefited them. What did he do? Bangladesh By the order of the Ministry of Cabinet Services, Bangladesh Civil Service brought a quota in BCS for those who had participated in the war of Bangladesh, who were freedom fighters i.e. the people of Mukti Vahini, this is the quota whose fire is there even today. She is engaged in Bangladesh and Sheikh Hasina had to leave Bangladesh, so what was the reason behind this quota? The 30 per cent quota was given to the freedom fighters i.e. the people of Mukti Wani, the remaining 10 per cent quota was given to those victim women. During this entire war, Pakistan Army had committed atrocities against them, remaining 10 were from district quota, 5 were from tribal community, remaining 1 were physically challenged people, who faced problems at that particular time, then all the remaining quota as I told you were physically challenged. There was no problem in the district, this freedom fighter quota which is based on 30 percent, so when this quota came, there was a section within the army which had dissatisfaction, they are not happy of that.
1975
- So, first of all the thing that happened was that there was dissatisfaction regarding this quota. The second problem that happened within the army was that by the year 1975, the condition of Bangladesh as a country had become very bad. A new country had been formed and starvation had become widespread. The economy was on the ground and the country was very unstable due to which in a very short time the people started talking against the government of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, forgetting about freedom etc. and in such a short time it was becoming very difficult for Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build the country day by day and along with this, the general public was already dissatisfied, so they had to deal with all these things and keep themselves in power so that no one And what does Sheikh Mujibur Rahman do when the party does not come out victorious and takes advantage of this situation?. He announces “BAKSAL” that he will now bring a one-party system in Bangladesh by forming the “BangladeshKrishak Shramik Awami League”. What is meant to say is that all the parties in the opposition will disintegrate. There will be only one party in Bangladesh which will be headed by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Now people get very angry after hearing this. The opposition was very angry because they knew that they would never come to power. A section of the army was already angry and after hearing this they became even more angry and the situation became so bad that on 15th of August 1975.
- Some army officers who were not happy, Sheikh Mujibur Residents of Rahman enter Dhanmondi, all the people who were there, all the family members of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his wife, his sons, kill the entire family, they kill a total of 17 people, then the man who gave independence to Bangladesh himself. Now after this incident, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's entire family was destroyed, but he had two daughters. Sheikh Hasina, who was 28 years old, had gone to Germany with her sister, who was from Bangladesh at that time. Otherwise, she would have been saved, her husband at that time, Dr. MA WajidMia, was a nuclear scientist in Germany and Sheikh Hasina had gone to Germany with her sister for some time and at that particular time. When the incident had happened, these two sisters had survived and there was no leadership left in Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Awami Party, only these two daughters were inside Germany, so their lives were also in great danger. Many such things were to come that they would be killed them there also, so in the same month i.e. in the month of August, Indira Gandhi called both the daughters of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from Germany to India and gave them political asylum and from August 1975 onwards. Till May 1981, Sheikh Hasina lived with her sister in New Delhi and this is the reason why Sheikh Hasina has a personal connection with India.
- So, when all these things happened here, the military carried out a coup. But they were fighting among themselves because there were many divisions within them and after multiple fights, after removing everyone and taking advantage of the opportunity, on the 7th of November 1975, Ziaur Rahman took charge of Bangladesh and as soon as he came to power, out of the reservation that was there in the year 1976, they reduced it due to the district quota system and slightly increased the quota for the jobs that were given on merit. Removing the quota completely would have backfired for them but they did so. By using different tricks and made it a little weak, this Ziaur Rahman is the same as I had told in the beginning that he was a senior officer in the freedom struggle of Bangladesh and was very close to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Establishment of BNP
- Now Ziaur Rahman was the Chief of Bangladesh. Becomes Martial Law Administrator and then on 21st April 1977, after about 2 years, he uses his power and becomes the President of Bangladesh and then after this, Ziaur Rahman forms his own political party which he names Bangladesh Nationalist. Party BNP. In today's date, if you open any newspaper, you will find the name of BNP everywhere, so after forming this political party, those who kept in mind the demography of Bangladesh, according to the census, Muslims were at 88.3% and Hindus were at 10.5% in Bangladesh. At that particular time, there were other communities too, so what did they do? Apart from the earlier politics of secularism and Bangladesh nationalism in Bangladesh, they shifted their politics according to the Muslim population, due to which in a very short time, Became popular. The majority in Bangladesh was of Muslims and there were some people among them who had some sympathy towards Pakistan at that particular time. They caught hold of that particular segment, understood their sentiments and joined with Jamaat-e-Islami. The ban on Jamaat Islami which Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had imposed after independence was completely removed. After coming to power, this Jamaat-e-Islami is the same group which I had told you in the beginning that had supported Pakistan and People used to call them Razakars etc. Now after this, Ziaur Rahman's BNP party forms an alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami and contests elections and to attract the religious sentiments within Bangladesh, they promoted religious beliefs within Bangladesh. “Joy Bangla's” slogan as promised in the manifesto was changed to “Bangladesh Zindabad”, Urdu word is primal of the Constitution, the word secularism was removed from the Constitution and after removing it, they replaced it with Absolute Trust and Faith in Almighty. Due to this, he got a lot of support within Bangladesh and also got international support and this thing was liked less by the Hindu voters and the supporters of Awami League and in the year 1979, Jamaat Islami and BNP both are participated in the election together. And then out of 300 seats, BNP wins 207 seats. So, see, as I told you, there were two groups within the Bangladesh Army, one was pro Pakistani who had a soft corner for Ziaur Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami and the other was pro India who was in the camp of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Allegations were made against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that he supports and Favors his group more and later on; by making this an issue, he becomes the assassination and it is for this reason only. 30th may 1981, a powerful group in the army also killed Ziaur Rahman, appointed him and carried out a coup. These two groups were formed in Bangladesh, because of this you will see many coups taking place in Bangladesh, so see now. After the ascension of Ziaur Rahman, Army Chief Hussain Mohammad Irshad came to power and imposed army rule. Now both Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Ziaur Rahman had lost their lives and there was no leadership left in the political parties of both of them.
Entry Zia and Hasina in politics
- When Ziaur Rahman assassinated by army after that appointed, his wife Khaleda Zia, you must have heard this name very recently, at that time she led Ziaur Rahman's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and on the other hand, she became its President. At the time i.e. in the year 1981, Sheikh Hasina came back and became the President of her father's party Awami League, but these two women hated each other very much because both of them were the main parties of Bangladesh. And the ideologies of both of them were very different, one was anti India and one was pro India. You can guess their enmity from the fact that the date of birth in the marriage certificate of Khaleda Zia was 9th of August 1944 but she deliberately changed it. It was changed to 15th of August because on this day Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of Sheikh Hasina, had died and he was the Father of the Nation. People used to mourn on this day, so on the same day, Khaleda Zia was the cake. She used to celebrate on this day, but if we talk about that particular time, both these women, who were leaders of both the parties, were out of power and Army Chief Irshad was ruling, now Shad had given these reservations. There was a quota for women, which was a freedom fighter quota, it was not disturbed but in the year 1986, this quota was given for women, so it was going unclaimed since the 1972 war, it was changed and by changing it, it became the quota for the entire Bangladesh. I had given it to the women who were there, so there was no problem at this particular time. This thing has changed. Now after this, Irshad remained in power for a long time, but like now Sheikh Hasina had to leave Bangladesh. Due to protest, in the same style, Khaleda and Sheikh Hasina's party had driven out Ershad in the year 1990.
- In the current situation going on, there has been an issue regarding quota, but at that time Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina had exercised dictatorship. Protests were made by making it an issue and all the oppositions were there, at that time there was a doctor in Dhaka University campus, Shamshl Alam khan Milon known as Dr. Milon, he was killed, so just like now people have come on the road, in the same way people have come on the road. Had gone and Ershad had to resign, so whatever is going on in the current situation, all those things had already happened before, so now after these elections are held in the year 1991, Sheikh Hasina and Khalid Azia have ousted Ershad from power. Both of them contest elections. Both were against each other. The vote percentage in the election was Sheikh Hasina's Awami Party and Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party. BNP, both got almost the same but Khaleda Zia had more seats. Like her husband, Khaleda Zia had got the support of Jamaat Islam at that time, so she formed an alliance with it and Khaleda Zia, as she is, comes to power and then becomes the PM. Now after Khaleda Zia becoming the PM, Sheikh Hasina is very upset.
- The number of times Khaleda Zia remained the PM is the number of times Sheikh Hasina protested, calling Khaleda a dictator and she is taking wrong advantage of power. All things were said. Every day there were headlines in the newspaper. “AMI EK DIN ER JONNO BNP KE SHANTI TE THAKTE DEBO NA” means that Sheikh Hasina used to say that “she will not allow Khaleda's government to run peacefully even for a day” and Sheikh Hasina succeeds in making people believe that Khaleda is a dictator and then the next elections which were held in the year 1996.
- In that Sheikh Hasina wins and becomes the PM and as soon as she becomes the PM, within a few months in the year 1997, she takes a decision and this decision was related to quota for her father who was a freedom fighter. When they came in the year 1997, there were very few freedom fighters left, so what does Sheikh Hasina do, she changed it and then from then on, the quota of freedom fighters was made applicable for their children also, so after that, whatever Khaleda Zia was there, now it was her turn, so now she starts calling Sheikh Hasina a dictator, she does the same thing in protest, these people take turns calling each other a dictator and then in 2001, Khaleda Zia wins the election. And becomes the PM but this time there was one thing in the elections that were held, Sheikh Hasina made a public invention regarding this and released a research paper in which how Khaleda rigged the elections and published it in the Centre for Research. And Information published research at the same time, the name of which was “A Rigged Election”.
- In this research, they had published 22 case studies in 22 constituencies in the elections, in which it was said that Khaleda Zia who won the election was in these constituencies. That is, she has won these 22 constituencies unfairly. In this, she said that Khaleda has rigged the elections, has placed her agents in the polling stations and did not allow 30,000 Hindu voters to vote in a planned manner because it was a Hindu vote bank. A total of 17 points were published which supported the Awami League after that for a long time. There is a lot of rivalry between these two, there are many different alliances, but after this, Sheikh Hasina, as she is, comes to power again. After coming to power again, she does one thing after which she never leaves power.
Entry of Mohammad Younis
- Now I will tell you what that thing was, but before that I would like to tell you about one more name, Mohammad Younis. Whatever is going on in Bangladesh right now, the name in it is Mohammad Younis, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Interim Government. He has become almost like the acting PM. Now what happened in the situation that I just told you that Sheikh Hasina had come to power after defeating Khaleda and at this particular time Mohammad Younis was in the US. He had gone to study in USA and after studying from there, he came back to Bangladesh and after coming back, he created " GRAMEEN BANK " rural banks inside Bangladesh. In this, micro loans were given to poor people, that is, he created an interesting concept of giving small loans in which the poor could get loans without mortgaging anything and this was a very unique and good concept for which he was praised all over the world. For this he also got the Nobel Prize and not only the Nobel Prize, he also got The US Presidential Medal.
- Of Freedom and after that he also got the US Congress Gold Medal, so this name is a very reputed name in Bangladesh, everyone respects him a lot but he was also stuck in this particular time and that is why he got stuck. Had gone because in 2006, there were two very important files of US which were regarding Mohammad Younis, both of those files were leaked through Wikileaks and after which a lot of problems started for Mohammad Younis.
- The first document which was leaked by WikiLeaks was a private conversation in which Mohammad Younis was talking. It had come out in which it was said that Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Jaya should be thrown out of politics and both of them should never have come back and at that particular time the army was ruling, so they also pressed that.
- In the second document that was leaked, Bangladeshi Ambassador of US James Jo told Mohammad Younis that he should not take tension, he will make everything right by talking to the PM Sheikh Hasina, so all these documents which were released after this, Sheikh Hasina did not like this thing at all, she gets very angry with them, but in the meantime, another thing happens, Mohan Kumar, who was the Joint Secretary of India's Foreign Office for Bangladesh, tells a US diplomat that Mohammad Younis has been given the Nobel Prize because the US wants to bring him to power in Bangladesh and wants to full fill its interests and if he gets the Nobel Prize, his credibility among the people will increase and if there is a positive response, it will make it easier to form the government, but further.
- When the matter comes out then Mohan Kumar says that I had said it but I do not believe so, now all these things were going on back-to-back, what did Sheikh Hasina do, she held a cabinet meeting and said on record that this Mohammad Younis is a very dangerous man. Stay away from him. He is conspiring with his American friend Hillary Clinton to topple the government of Bangladesh. He has to be stopped by any means and within a short time Sheikh Hasina was also put him in jail and Mohammad Younis had also removed him from his position in Grameen Bank etc. which he had created. Now later one thing happened that there was a Padma Bridge, the US had stopped its funding for Bangladesh.
- So, Sheikh Hasina was very angry and she had given a statement that this “Mohammed Younis should be drowned in this Padma River. When he starts dying, take him out and then drown him there.” What I mean to say is that Sheikh Hasina and Mohammed Younis are Both of them were anti, so in the case of Khaleda Zia, people used to increase but Mohammad Younis is a very respected man, everyone respects him a lot in Bangladesh, so Sheikh Hasina could not get along here but at this particular time. At that time, Sheikh Hasina had absolutely no idea that all the things would turn upside down in 2024, that Sheikh Hasina would have to leave Bangladesh and on the contrary, Mohammad Younis would become the master of Bangladesh, so that went along with Younis at that particular time.
Hasina’s Diplomacy
- Now I will come to the current situation also, at this particular time, this equation was going on between Sheikh Hasina and Mohammad Younis, but Sheikh Hasina had made arrangements for Khaleda Zia and how she did it. Then first of all, when Sheikh Hasina had won in 2008, then within 2 years of that in 2010, she did this that these freedom fighters now had less children to claim. So now what Sheikh Hasina did from here is that if her children are also decreasing to get the quota then she made the quota applicable for her grandchildren. Along with this Sheikh Hasina did this which Khaleda Zia 's BNP party Which used to contest elections in alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP had lifted the ban on it which was imposed by Sheikh Hasina's father. Sheikh Hasina has banned it again, that is, Jamaat-e-Islami. It was banned again. Along with this, what does Sheikh Hasina do? Khaleda Zia's BNP party, with which Jamaat-e-Islami used to fight elections, was banned. In 2010, the International Crime Tribunal was formed, whose job was that in 1971 There was Bangladesh Liberation War and war crimes were committed in it. At that time, action was started against those who had supported Pakistan and then they were banned and when the action was started, Jamaat-e-Islami was banned along with it. All the top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami like Ghulam Azam, Dilwar Hussain, Motiur Rehman were sentenced, so overall Jamaat Islami was completely weakened and just a year later in 2011, Sheikh Hasina took the 5th Passed the amendment and re-added the word secular in the Constitution, then what did Sheikh Hasina do after that in the same year i.e. 2011, she removed the concept of caretaker government in Bangladesh.
- Now you will say that this What is a caretaker government? See, like in India, there is an Election Commission which conducts the elections, whereas in Bangladesh, there is a concept in which the government which is ruling for 90 days will also be removed, the opposition will also be separated and A caretaker government will be formed, it is a temporary government and all the neutral people live inside this government, the big officers etc. come and they get this election done so that re-election can be held, then Sheikh Hasina. She also removed this concept and said that we will conduct elections in the same way as the Election Commission conducts elections in the rest of the world. There is a lot of noise about this too but Sheikh Hasina does not agree to anything. Elections are held in 2014 and Sheikh Hasina wins the elections again. Now after winning the election, Sheikh Hasina does one more thing. Khaleda Zia used to run a Zia Orphanage Trust and funds etc. we’re coming into this trust since the year 1991. So, what does Sheikh Hasina do? Secret inquiry into this trust. She starts getting the matter done from the Anti-Corruption Commission and after all the inquiries are completed, charges are filed against Khaleda Zia that Khaleda has illegally withdrawn 21 million Bangladeshi Taka from this trust. The matter goes to the court and by 2018, the court gives her 10 years imprisonment. Khaleda Zia had just come out for six months at the time of Covid, from then till today she is in jail and after that Sheikh Hasina was in power from then till now.
- Now after this, Sheikh Hasina continues to run her government comfortably and after this, 2018 comes again and in this year, trouble arises again for Sheikh Hasina, two things happen simultaneously, along with her, there were two students inside Dhaka, Abdul Karim and Diya Khanam are crushed by a bus and both of them lose their lives. Due to this, the students of Dhaka University City start protesting and at the same time, unemployment had increased so much that people People start protesting about the quota that was there for the freedom fighters, now that 2018 has come, all the freedom fighters that were there should have got the quota that they should have got, now if it is removed then people start protesting about this thing, DhakaUniversity. These protests were started inside and gradually their students from Jahangir Nagar University, Rajshahi University, Chitta Ganga University also joined this protest, many lathi charges were used but no student agreed, now the Khaleda of BNP was there. Jamaat-e-Islam was in jail, it had also become weak, so the entire opposition, they also saw a hope in this particular incident against Sheikh Hasina, the people of BNP, in fact, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, Chhatra Shibir, were there. She also joins this protest and the government comes on the backfoot and what does Sheikh Hasina do to save herself from this? Except the education sector, she removes the quota for freedom fighters from all other places and the matter calms down.
- Now from here there will be a question in your mind that this Sheikh Hasina, this freedom fighter, why is she so much behind the quota that again and again people oppose it and again and again she wants to keep it, so watch the freedom fighter. Who are those who fought under the pretext of liberation in support of Sheikh Hasina's father at the time of independence of Bangladesh? These freedom fighters may be from any religion or community. If their loyalty was to the Awami Party, then this was their quota. And because of this advantage they got, no matter how hard BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami tried, it was very difficult to bring the Awami Party to the back foot. These freedom fighters, who availed the benefits of the quota, do not vote for the BNP party. They remain against because BNP became Jamaat-e-Islami. They used to be pro- Pakistani. There were more fundamentalists in it and even though BNP was there, they used to join Jamaat-e-Islami to stay in power, but these Jamaat-e-Islami people also believe in democracy. No, he has said on record that he wants to make Bangladesh an Islamic country. Once he won 17 seats in the elections, he got two cabinet positions. At that time, 460 bombs were exploded at 500 locations in Bangladesh, which was Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh was JMB, it had also burst their ideology which is similar to Jamaat-e-Islami, in fact BNP party has been put in the category of terrorists by the Federal Court of Canada
- If anyone has any association with BNP party of Bangladesh. they don’t get asylum it has said by himself Federal Court judge Justice Henry S. Brown has clearly stated in his judgment that this quota gives a huge advantage to Sheikh Hasina's Awami Party. Along with this, many such reports have come. Where there are allegations that the Awami Party gives quota to its party's supporters by giving them the name of freedom fighter.
- In 2014, a report by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs came out, when 6000 fake freedom fighter quota certificates were caught, now like India. How do we know who is a freedom fighter? The government gives him a certificate. Similarly, in Bangladesh too, it is in the hands of the government to give this certificate. It has also been heard many times that people take loans to avail this freedom fighter quota. Let us assume that once you get the quota by investing this money, life will become better, you will get a job, but actually there is a lot of politics involved behind this quota, elections were also near in 2018, elections were to be held in December 2018, so that was. At the particular time, this quota was removed under pressure but this quota was not going to be removed so easily, so after this, elections are held again in December 2018 and Sheikh Hasina, who was there, wins the elections again. Allegations are imposed on her again.
- They say that the elections held are rigged and there is a lot of violence. BCC correspondents were there in this election. They themselves saw that the ballot boxes inside Chitta Ganga were already filled and when they asked the polling officer about this, he She refused to tell anything and there was a lot of hue and cry but Sheikh Hasina being the person she was said that all these are politically motivated things and in the midst of all this Sheikh Hasina comes back to power without any problem.
2023
- And then as soon as the year 2023. Here comes the problems start again for Sheikh Hasina. What actually happens is that the readymade garment industry of Bangladesh is the backbone of Bangladesh's economy. It contributes 11% of GDP. Bangladesh's third largest textile in the world comes from this government industry. It is a supplier, sometimes it comes at the second position, sometimes it comes at the fourth position, then it remains in the top five and employment of more than 4 million people of Bangladesh comes from this garment industry. You see brands buying readymade garments from Bangladesh and selling them with their logo on them and the competition in Bangladesh in this matter is much more than that of Vietnam because the brands of rich countries are available in these countries at very low prices. Workers are available, that is why they come to these two countries. Now what happens is that in October 2023, these garment workers close 600 factories and start protesting, saying that our income is very low and you People are earning so much profit, you increase our salary and these people protest about this thing.
- Now the problem faced by Sheikh Hasina was that if she had increased their wages then the costing would have increased, which is outside. The companies that were there would leave Bangladesh and shift to Bangladesh's competition Vietnam. Unemployment was already very high. The entire economy of Bangladesh was dependent on it; hence Sheikh Hasina did not take the risk and she suppressed the entire protest. And elections were also going to be held at the same time, so the date of the elections was December 2023. Elections are held in December only in Bangladesh, so it was shifted to the 7th January 2024.
- Now the opposition after this says that Every time during elections, this government prevails, bring back the concept of caretaker government and if you do not do so this time, we will boycott the elections. Sheikh Hasina would have clearly refused. They are for this thing and the opposition boycotted the entire election. Half of the opposition was already in jail and the rest had boycotted the election. The situation had become such that at the time of the election, many constituencies were like this. Where only Sheikh Hasina's candidate was standing, then Sheikh Hasina won 223 seats out of 300 seats comfortably.
2024
- The entire opposition of Jamaat-e-Islami BNP makes a lot of noise about this, these people were sitting full but these few Now Sheikh Hasina, who was there, comes back to power with huge votes and as soon as she comes to power, starting from June 2024, the quota of freedom fighter which was there in 2018, will be given to her due to protests. Regarding that quota which was removed, the High Court says that what was removed is unconstitutional and implements it again. Now again a ruckus arises regarding this. Now the first thing is that people start making allegations that This Sheikh Hasina, whenever she wins, uses her power and gives advantage to her voters. Secondly, all the students say that it is okay, the High Court has removed this thing, but you are winning with so many votes. You have the legislative power to remove it by using it and if you do not do so then we will protest and when nothing is done on this for a long time then the students of Dhaka University and some public interest lawyers who were with them approached the High Court.
- Now we are going to Supreme Court against this decision of Dhaka University, three students of Sociology Department of Dhaka University were Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmood and Abu Bakar Majumdar, these three names which I am taking in front of you, because of these three names, Sheikh Hasina was sent to Bangladesh. What happens if they have to leave, that these three students start protesting in Dhaka University that the quota for these freedom fighters should be removed and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is the Father of the Nation, also raises slogans against them. It was a mistake, they had brought this quota, otherwise there was no need for it, now unemployment was already very high, the students were already worried about the job and gradually this protest would have started here also in Jahangiri Nagar University, Rajshahi University, Chitta Ganga University.
- And here as soon as it starts, people from all over Bangladesh join this protest. Initially this protest was peaceful but as days pass, things start getting worse. Within a few days, people from BNP party People were there, Jamaat-e-Islami sends its student wing to the student camp, so along with the students, the opposition also comes to the field and along with it, those who had done the garment protest also join it and as soon as here with the students- When so many people come along, then violence starts from here.
- The whole of Bangladesh almost came down on the road, except the core voters of Awami Party, everyone was on the ground. The intensity of the protest was 14th July. By 2024, it had started increasing significantly and on the same day Sheikh Hasina comes to a press conference where there was media from all over the country and there, she gives a statement which weighs heavily on her that “If the children of freedom fighters will not get reservation, then Will Razakar get reservation?” Like I told earlier also, it is considered very wrong in Bangladesh, he is seen as a traitor and people get very angry that first of all, there is no job, we are protesting, so we are considered traitors. Razakar is being called, students are being called angrier about this, intensity increases everywhere, Sheikh Hasina of protest was feeling that she can control this thing, power is in her hands but this is very big for her. She was satisfied, now from here she again thought of a new thing. The three boys who were leading this protest, Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmood and Abu Bakar, felt that if we could control these three, then the protest would be There will be peace but this was the biggest mistake of the government.
28th July 2024
- The date comes on 28th July 2024 and on this day, these three student leaders disappear. People search for them and even go to the police asking where all three are, maybe they will wake up. They may have been taken but the police would deny that they do not have them but when one of the three, Nahid, was picked up, a student had made a video and that video started going viral that the government had picked him up, there was a huge crowd. They become very angry and starts beating the police. From here the police also use batons. The crowd becomes uncontrollable and on this day many people die.
- The government feels that this was a very bad move and on 21st July Nahid, who was there, is found unconscious on a road in a very bad condition, the other two are also found in a bad condition and after this they are picked up and taken to the hospital. Now seeing this, people get even more angry, so the government It seems that a mistake has been made again, so the government again picks up these three from the hospital between 26th July and 27th July and this time says that it is a security area and there can be an attack on them, so we will have to keep them under security. So, on one hand they are taken from the hospital and the same day court also decides that this quota has been removed, only 5% will get the quota, everything else has been removed, things which have not been accepted for so long.
- She was stuck in the court, all those things were accepted but now people say that no, this Sheikh Hasina has taken a lot of beatings, she will have to apologize, they are demanding resignation and many people were on the road regarding this too. Meanwhile, what happens is that a video message comes from these three in which their faces are clearly visible and in this video all three of them appeal to stop the protest, saying that you people keep peace, do not riot, end this protest immediately.
- But people doubt that they are being forced to do this, then even after this video, people do not stop, violence starts on the streets, no matter how you do it, send these three back, the police start beating people, on the contrary, the police start beating them. This was the time in Bangladesh when the whole of Bangladesh was burning, so the government, under pressure, somehow released these three and seeing the condition of these three, people became very angry. It is said that we were beaten with iron rods, we were injected and we were forced to give statements and on hearing this, the crowd got even more enraged. Nahid who was there said that now we want the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, now when there is too much pressure on the Awami Party. When pressure is applied, statements also come from Awami Party saying that the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami and the opposition leader of BNP are getting all this done, then the very next day a student wink from Awami Party also comes. Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) sends them these people. Police also goes with them against this protest and two groups are formed and there is a lot of killing, a lot of fighting takes place, massacre starts on the road, security forces descend. Those who were on the road, whether BNP, opposition or student wing, everyone is killed, tear gas is released, rubber bullets are sent to them, all the methods are used around the world to stop the protest, curfew etc., shutting down the internet. Even firing from helicopters is done, every method is adopted but these protests do not stop. This was the time when the government understood that this protest is now going out of their hands and from here the crowd decides. All these people gather and say that Sheikh Hasina is her PM's house, everyone will reach there, now the government has understood, the government has also offered talks, it has also offered peace, but now people say We need Sheikh Hasina's resignation by any means.
31st July 2024
- On July 31, 2024, Sheikh Hasina talks to the Ambassador of India and through him also seeks help from India to help her in stopping this protest, but India Whatever it is, it calls it an internal matter but India says yes regarding the security of Sheikh Hasina. No one was able to stop the protest, but to cool it down, a 3-day public holiday was also declared, but nothing could be done. Now from here Sheikh Hasina also thinks that if the Army is disbanded then the Chief of the Army, Waqar Uz Zaman, is close to Sheikh Hasina, he is Sheikh Hasina's cousin, he explains to her that there is no benefit in disbanding the Army.
- The crowd is so huge that more people will be killed and nothing will be achieved. Along with this, the Army Chief also advises that the crowd is reaching the PM House. If you give your resignation, the crowd will calm down and your security will be ensured. Sheikh Hasina initially refuses but later agrees but says one more thing that I will leave from here and will also give resignation but let me give a message to the nation on TV. But the Army Chief refuses for this also, he says that everyone will know that you have given resignation, you have to leave from here within 45 minutes, which is the time you are getting, you may not even get this time.
- Then this is why Sheikh Hasina along with her sister resigns without informing anyone and leaves Bangladesh within 45 minutes. India deployed the Rafales on the border as per its promise. They guard her and Sheikh Hasina reaches inside India. From here, she had to go to London. Initially, London refuses, US also cancels the visa, now India also faces problems from here. Gone because if India keeps Sheikh Hasina forever, the political aide she gets will not be happy, she will demand to give her back, then India's relations with Bangladesh will deteriorate and on top of that, the government talks anti-India. If we do this, then there will be more loss, like in the case of Tibet and China, Dalai Lama was kept, in that case, China got angry, then in this case also the same situation can arise and if you look at it morally, Sheikh Hasina got handed over to the opposition. If I send it back then a very wrong message will be sent, so India also has a very tough situation. Now this is one thing. Now as soon as Sheikh Hasina went out of Bangladesh, the people of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami had to face this thing. It was realized that now the Awami Party is not going to enter Bangladesh.
- So, the core supporters of the Awami Party and the Hindu community that supported the Awami Party were started to be massacred. There were voters and the Hindu community, they were taken out and killed, some were being hanged, some were being burnt, some were being beaten, this was being done at the crossroads. This was being done so that either all these people should be eliminated or they should run away and if any political situation arises in the future, the vote bank against them should not be saved, so these people A lot of massacres was done and the religious places like temples etc., Hindu temples etc. were also burnt.
- If you look at this whole situation carefully then it is like cutting the throat, killing and hanging upside down. Ther are lots of footage you must have seen that footage. What is more painful is that a student who is studying cannot do this and this is the reason why people are saying that these are not students, there is some deep conspiracy in this, the situation that has arisen was a simple and small demand for reservation. So much has happened, it is not so simple, the international players are also evolved, look at the conspiracy theory in this, there is a lot going on, in a few days we will know who got the actual advantage, it happened to China, it happened to US, it happened to Pakistan. It will be known in a few days who actually benefited from it and who was involved in it, but one thing has been confirmed in it, Pakistan's Imran Khan had also said that he has been offered to build an air base. For inside Pakistan and if the air base is not allowed to be built then we will remove it. Later I saw that Imran Khan had gone and after some time Sheikh Hasina had also said the same thing that a white man had come to me and he had said that They had demanded two islands to build an air base and if this is not allowed then your government will go, otherwise we will leave you, otherwise they had also said this thing and the adventurer Hasina also had to leave Bangladesh, so now we will talk about this particular time. If we do, Bangladesh has actually become the wrestling ring of this world. There is a fight going on on the prop. In a few days we will know who has emerged as the winner and the most surprising thing in this was that everyone was feeling that it was empty. The Zia who is there will come out, her party will come and rule Bangladesh, the people of Jamaat-e-Islami will come, but in actual, the name of Mohammad Younis comes at the last moment, which no one had expected, so it seems as simple as it is. It is not that simple and but the biggest problem is that it has come up for India and not only Bangladesh, something or the other is happening with all the neighbours of India, but there is a lot of theory regarding the international players. This is going on as updates will come because there are many such documents which are floating in the market in which it is being told that these people are evolving, this country is evolving, so as soon as there is some update, I will post.
