Thrilling Facts About Israel–Palestine Conflict
Introduction
- A small country with a very small population but one of the most controversial areas in which the country is located. This country has fought a lot for thousands of years. The question is what is the cause that has been fought over for thousands of years? Why is there no solution to this problem? How come despite being such a small country, big Arab countries such as Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen are not able to defeat this country together? What is the Gaza trip, Hamas, Temple Mount, West Bank?
Background History
- If we talk about who now, then west of India is a small country called Israel. The area that includes some of the West Bank, Gaza trip is called Palestine. In other words, Palestine is located within Israel. And between Israel and Palestine is Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the main reason why we sometimes hear of trouble between Christians, Jews and Muslims.
- It all started around 1047 BC when this place was called the Kingdom of Israel. At that time most of the Zeus lived in this place and there was a Jews king in this place named King Sulman Tina during his reign he built a temple which he named Temple of Mount where jews went to worship regularly.
- Later the Babylonians invaded the country around 586BC. And attacked and destroyed this temple. Then Palestine came to this land, and when they came they rebuilt this temple and they named the First Temple the Second Temple. And then again the Roman Empire invaded this country and they attacked and destroyed this temple again. As for the rest, only one wall of this temple remains and is known as the Western Wall. Then the Jews all fled this country and went to Europe because during the Roman Empire Jews were persecuted more. And because of that they left the country and fled to different parts of the world and at that time the Jews mostly went to Rome to live because Rome was so close to their Israel. And of all the remaining families of Israel, Jesus Christ was born to one of the families. As Jesus Christ in the Roman Empire grew day by day, he moved away from the Jews core teaching and started a new philosophy core teaching in the Jerusalem place. Just as Gautam Buddha, despite being born in a Hindu family, moved away from his own Hindu culture and taught the philosophy of Buddhism. Although it has now become a religion, but every religion was once a philosophy. Later this philosophy of Jesus came to be known as Christianity. Since Jesus Christ, despite being a Jew himself, moved away from the culture of the Jews and began to preach a different philosophy, Jesus quickly gained popularity. The jews religious priests did not take this well at all, and they were so enraged that they crucified Jesus Christ in front of everyone in the middle of Jerusalem because of their displeasure.
Importance of Jerusalem
- Until now everything was going well in the Roman Empire, but in 306 King Valerius died and his son Constantine the Great took over. He loved Christianity and was the first king to adopt Christianity, and after his adoption he spread Christianity throughout Roman culture. But because jews crucified Jesus Christ at that time, that's why everyone looked down on jews and hated them. And during the reign of Anna, many beatings and persecutions of the Jews began, and because of this, the Jews fled the Roman Empire at that time. And Constantine the Great built the church of the holy sepulchre on the spot where Jesus Christ was crucified. This charge was located 2 km away from the temple mount. The Jews called the Temple Mount the Temple Mount, but the Muslims called it the Haram-al-Sharif.
- Then in 638 AD came the Arab Army of Umar who defeated the Roman Empire. Today there is trouble between jews and muslims but at that time jews did not object to being under muslim rule. And the Muslims also considered the Jews as their own, because the culture and religion of the Jews and Muslims were very similar. When the jews were under the Arab Army of Umar, they built the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque on the site of the Second Temple in Jerusalem.
- The reason for its construction is that al-Aqsa mosque is the place where Muhammad used to pray in Jerusalem and the place where he stepped on the rock to ascend to heaven is built around the "Dome of the rock". al aqsa mosque, dome of the rock and western wall these three together are called temple mount. And Muslims call it Haram Al Sharif. The non-Muslim community is not excluded from this al-Aqsa mosque. Jews can only pray at the western wall. Two kilometers away from here is the church of holy sepulcher and the whole 37 acres of it is a very important place for jews, muslims and christians as it is the largest Asian community and the third holiest site for muslims after Mecca-Madinah. This is why Jerusalem is so important to the three communities because the three communities want to take it.
- When the jews were persecuted when they moved to Europe, even though they moved to Europe the jews always turned to Jerusalem to pray.
- Wherever Jews were in Europe, they wanted to return to their homeland. In 1891, a jews writer leo pinker wrote in his book Auto-Emancipation that the jews of Europe began to be greatly persecuted because of their own will, they were not given the same status as other Europeans. At that time all these things became political and at that time Jews started a movement called Zionism and the main objective of this movement was to return them to their country.
WW I
- Around year 1914 when first world war was about to start. Germany and Britain while against each other and Ottoman Empire who were ruling over the ‘Kingdom of Jews’ took stand to support Germany now Britain also need there own Allies the government officials of Britain, always assumed that jews from Russia and America they could have influence on they are governments to support a specific side and due to all these things Britain attempted to make Jews happy by supporting ‘Zionist’ which was in fact supporting the idea of giving Israels there own country. This was very strongly supported by Britain and they even give a declaration which is known as ‘ Balfour Deceleration ’ which started “his majesty government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” now in the world war Britain,USSR,US were on one side, who had Jewish support too and while on other side Germany was taking its stand along with Ottoman empire in 1981 World War 1 end and Britain win and first thing they did was to remove the Ottoman Empire who were ruling over the Jews kingdom were removed and Britishers starts ruling instead as juice supported Britishers very openly in war leading Britain to win everyone new British would give jews rewards what Britain wrote in Balfour deceleration was duly followed and Jews who were in Europe where assisted to settle in Palestine area where jews originally resided were migrated back inside the Palestine population are Arabs was significantly larger including the Palestinians but jews started living in some areas there. Even through jews used to live in Palestine areas thousands of years ago but when Jews were migrated back from all over the world especially from Europe into Palestine area the Arab countries around Palestine never liked this migration and they were opposing the largely on one side the Jews from Europe where coming back to Palestine who were supported by the Britishers, on the other hand the organisation of Jews started funding, them and using them fund which was cash jews started purchasing land in Palestine. While Britishers were telling Arabs that they want peace but the other hand side they were sending jews into Palestine. In 1992 a white paper belonging to the Britishers came into light and it proved that they were deliberately doing so, which was fought their own benefits actually it was “Divide and rules” strategy they were using, the same they did in India too. On multiple occasions Arabs asked Britishers to limit the Jews immigration but it was never implemented. Between 1992 to 1923 30,000 jews came from eastern Europe, between 1924 to 1926 approximately 50,000 US came from Poland. Between 1933 to 1936 total of 0.17 million jews came to Palestine. Actually the jews community had to return to Palestine as Hitler rise was fast growing and whenever countries where under is influences where killed Jews in masses people already blamed Jews for killing Jesus Christ and considered Jews as anti-Christianity and on the other hand has Jews were money laundering for profit. Which is not considered good in Christianity even church did't allowed this and when Christians even did this business but jews did. This made the common population of Europe have hatred toward Jews and led to robbery, discrimination, exclusion, violence against Jews. With Jews who lived in Europe European started taking away their properties forcefully even jews they were not allow in public space.
- And Nuremberg Law came in 1935 which prohibited Jews to marry non-jews. Jews even lost their citizenship and were moved to “Concentration Camp” they were treated like a second class citizen. Infact at the time of Second World War Holocaust happened where around 6 million Jews were killed. All this led to only way left for the Jews to return to Palestine and they did reach Palestine in rush, which made juice population even more than Arab in the Palestine.
What is Zionism?
- Simply put, Zionism is a movement to recreate a Jewish presence in Israel. The name comes from the word “Zion,” which is a Hebrew term that refers to Jerusalem.
- Throughout history, Jews have considered certain areas in Israel sacred—as do Christians and Muslims. The Torah, the Jewish religious text, depicts stories of ancient prophets who were instructed by their God to return to this homeland.
- While the fundamental philosophies of the Zionist movement have existed for hundreds of years, modern Zionism formally took root in the late 19th century. Around that time, Jews throughout the world faced growing anti-Semitism.
- Some historians believe that an increasingly tense atmosphere between Jews and Europeans may have triggered the Zionism movement. In one 1894 incident, a Jewish officer in the French army named Alfred Dreyfus was falsely accused and convicted of treason. This event, which became known as the “Dreyfus Affair,” sparked outrage among Jewish people and many others.
- Persecuted Jews who were struggling to salvage their identity began promoting the idea of returning to their homeland and restoring a Jewish culture there.
WW II
- In the year of 1939 Second World War get started at that time Arab supported Hitler in Germany and Jews puts all their efforts together and support in Britain,USSR, US who all were on one side. Jews had to do this as it was there chance to fight back against Hitler and they also got training which they were to used in future. Second World War end Germany loses millions of Jews got kill in the war. One thing was prominent about Jews that they never lost any battle cause they always fought for retaining their existence. Even when most Arab country attack them unitedly Jews surprised the entire world. Intelligence Agency MOSSAD you must have already heard a lots about them.
- After Second World War all countries games together and from United Nation so the war can be stopped suppress possibilities of the future war in the world and solve problems with countries, but inside the UN those people had more say who had won the World War like Britain US USSR and with the zeal Jews supported Britain, US,USSR and had put their all lives at risk the time had come for the Jews together rewarding for. By The End Of World War II it was expected that Jews would get back their country and Britain to make this happen give the “Belfour declaration” to the UN. In February 1947 find secretary of Britain Ernest Bevin save now Palestine is out of control of Britain matters of shifting Jewish back to Palestine should be handled by United Nation themselves. UN formed a special committee and they visited Palestine the committee had 11 countries member. After this even committee gave and historic verdict which started whatever area that lies in Palestine where Palestinians Jews and Christianity live and also has Jerusalem which has very significant important for all three religions the only solution possible is to create a country “Israel” and should be given to jews and at the same place a country named “Palestine” should be formed and given to the Palestinian and the Jerusalem should not be given to anyone but should remain under the control of United Nation. When voting for this happened all countries voted for favour for the proposal, but India was the only non Muslim country who had voted in the support of Palestine. So it does not get proposed partition. All the Arab countries also voted against the proposal partition of Palestine. But even after this the Palestine did happened.
- After this decision Britishers who were ruled this area, lift and next day after Britishers left Arab countries which were Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia,Lebanon, Yemen,Iraq all of them started war against Israel and everyone was under impression that with so many Arab countries attacking together and food easily win the war but actually the unexpected happen and Arab countries had to back of but Israel took mode land then allocate to them by UN. This bag for Arab country all together.
- In the year 1950 Israel passes a law which was called law of Return. This law started any Jews Residing anywhere around the world would get Israel citizenship and they are free to come Israel whenever they feel like
First Arab-Israel War
- In the year 1948 Arab–Israeli War, also known as the First Arab–Israeli War, followed the civil war in Mandatory Palestine as the second and final stage of the 1948 Palestine war. It formally began following the end of the British Mandate for Palestine at midnight on 14 May 1948; the Israeli Declaration of Independence had been issued earlier that day, and a military coalition of Arab states which were Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia,Lebanon, Yemen,Iraq entered the territory of British Palestine in the morning of 15 May.
- War against Israel and everyone was under impression that with so many Arab countries attacking together and food easily win the war but actually the unexpected happen and Arab countries had to back of but Israel took mode land then allocate to them by UN. This bag for Arab country all together.
- In the year 1950 Israel passes a law which was called law of Return. This law started any Jews Residing anywhere around the world would get Israel citizenship and they are free to come Israel whenever they feel like.
Suez War Or Second Arab–Israeli war Or Tripartite aggression Or Sinai War
- Background
- The Suez Canal was opened in 1869, after ten years of work financed by the French and Egyptian governments. The canal was operated by the Universal Company of the Suez Maritime Canal, an Egyptian-chartered company; the area surrounding the canal remained sovereign Egyptian territory and the only land-bridge between Africa and Asia.
- The canal instantly became strategically important, as it provided the shortest ocean link between the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean. The canal eased commerce for trading nations and particularly helped European colonial powers to gain and govern their colonies.
- In 1875, as a result of debt and financial crisis, Egypt was forced to sell its shares in the canal operating company to the British government of Benjamin Disraeli. They were willing buyers and obtained a 44% share in the Suez Canal Company for £4 million (equivalent to £401 million in 2021). This maintained the majority share holdings of the mostly-French private investors. With the 1882 invasion and occupation of Egypt, the UK took de facto control of the country as well as the canal proper, its finances and operations. The 1888 Convention of Constantinople declared the canal a neutral zone under British protection. In ratifying it, the Ottoman Empire agreed to permit international shipping to pass freely through the canal, in time of war and peace. The Convention came into force in 1904, the same year as the Entente cordiale between Britain and France.
- The Suez Crisis, or the Second Arab–Israeli war, also called the Tripartite Aggression in the Arab world and the Sinai War in Israel, was an invasion of Egypt and the Gaza Strip in late 1956 by Israel, followed by the United Kingdom and France. The aims were to regain control of the Suez Canal for the Western powers and to remove Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser, who had just nationalized the foreign-owned Suez Canal Company, which administered the canal. Israel's primary objective was to re-open the blocked Straits of Tiran. After the fighting had started, political pressure from the United States, the Soviet Union, and the United Nations led to a withdrawal by the three invaders. The episode humiliated the United Kingdom and France and strengthened Nasser.
- On 26 July 1956, Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal Company, which prior to that was owned primarily by British and French shareholders. On 29 October, Israel invaded the Gaza Strip and the Egyptian Sinai. Britain and France issued a joint ultimatum to cease fire, which was ignored. On 5 November, Britain and France landed paratroopers along the Suez Canal. The Egyptian forces, before they were defeated, blocked all ship traffic by sinking 40 ships in the canal. It later became clear that Israel, France and Britain had conspired to plan the invasion. The three allies had attained a number of their military objectives, but the canal was useless. Heavy political pressure from the United States and the USSR led to a withdrawal. U.S. president Dwight D. Eisenhower had strongly warned Britain not to invade; he threatened serious damage to the British financial system by selling the U.S. government's pound sterling bonds. Historians conclude the crisis "signified the end of Great Britain's role as one of the world's major powers".
- The Suez Canal was closed from October 1956 until March 1957. Israel fulfilled some of its objectives, such as attaining freedom of navigation through the Straits of Tiran, which Egypt had blocked to Israeli shipping since 1948–1950.
- As a result of the conflict, the United Nations created the UNEF Peacekeepers to police the Egyptian–Israeli border, British prime minister Anthony Eden resigned, Canadian external affairs minister Lester Pearson won the Nobel Peace Prize, and the USSR may have been emboldened to invade Hungary.
The Six-Day War Or June War Or 1967 Arab–Israeli War Or Third Arab–Israeli War
- Background
- After the 1956 Suez Crisis, Egypt agreed to the stationing of a United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in the Sinai to ensure all parties would comply with the 1949 Armistice Agreements. In the following years there were numerous minor border clashes between Israel and its Arab neighbours, particularly Syria. In early November 1966, Syria signed a mutual defence agreement with Egypt.Soon after this, in response to Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) guerilla activity, including a mine attack that left three dead, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) attacked the village of as-Samu in the Jordanian-ruled West Bank. Jordanian units that engaged the Israelis were quickly beaten back.King Hussein of Jordan criticized Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser for failing to come to Jordan's aid, and "hiding behind UNEF skirts".
- In May 1967, Nasser received false reports from the Soviet Union that Israel was massing on the Syrian border.Nasser began massing his troops in two defensive lines in the Sinai Peninsula on Israel's border (16 May), expelled the UNEF force from Gaza and Sinai (19 May) and took over UNEF positions at Sharma el-Sheikh, overlooking the Straits of Tiran. Israel repeated declarations it had made in 1957 that any closure of the Straits would be considered an act of war, or justification for war,but Nasser closed the Straits to Israeli shipping on 22–23 May.After the war, U.S. President Lyndon Johnson.
- The Six-Day War or June War, also known as the 1967 Arab–Israeli War or Third Arab–Israeli War, was fought between Israel and a coalition of Arab states (primarily Egypt, Syria, and Jordan) from 5 to 10 June 1967.
- Escalated hostilities broke out amid poor relations between Israel and its Arab neighbours following the 1949 Armistice Agreements, which were signed at the end of the First Arab–Israeli War. Earlier, in 1956, regional tensions over the Straits of Tiran escalated in what became known as the Suez Crisis, when Israel invaded Egypt over the Egyptian closure of maritime passageways to Israeli shipping, ultimately resulting in the re-opening of the Straits of Tiran to Israel as well as the deployment of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) along the Egypt–Israel border. In the months prior to the outbreak of the Six-Day War in June 1967, tensions again became dangerously heightened: Israel reiterated its post-1956 position that another Egyptian closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping would be a definite casus belli. In May 1967, Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser announced that the Straits of Tiran would again be closed to Israeli vessels. He subsequently mobilized the Egyptian military into defensive lines along the border with Israel and ordered the immediate withdrawal of all UNEF personnel.
- On 5 June 1967, as the UNEF was in the process of leaving the zone, Israel launched a series of preemptive airstrikes against Egyptian airfields and other facilities, launching its war effort.Egyptian forces were caught by surprise, and nearly all of Egypt's military aerial assets were destroyed, giving Israel air supremacy. Simultaneously, the Israeli military launched a ground offensive into Egypt's Sinai Peninsula as well as the Egyptian-occupied Gaza Strip. After some initial resistance, Nasser ordered an evacuation of the Sinai Peninsula; by the sixth day of the conflict, Israel had occupied the entire Sinai Peninsula.Jordan, which had entered into a defense pact with Egypt just a week before the war began, did not take on an all-out offensive role against Israel. However, the Jordanians did launch attacks against Israeli forces to slow Israel's advance. On the fifth day, Syria joined the war by shelling Israeli positions in the north.
- Egypt and Jordan agreed to a ceasefire on 8 June, and Syria on 9 June, and it was signed with Israel on 11 June. The Six-Day War resulted in more than 20,000 fatal Arab casualties, while Israel suffered fewer than 1,000 fatal casualties. Alongside the combatant casualties were the deaths of 20 Israeli civilians killed in Arab forces air strikes on Jerusalem, 15 UN peacekeepers killed by Israeli strikes in the Sinai at the outset of the war, and 34 US personnel killed in the USS Liberty incident in which Israeli air forces struck a United States Navy technical research ship.
- At the time of the cessation of hostilities, Israel had captured Syria's Golan Heights, the Jordanian-annexed West Bank (including East Jerusalem), and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula as well as the Egyptian-occupied Gaza Strip. The displacement of civilian populations as a result of the Six-Day War would have long-term consequences, as around 280,000 to 325,000 Palestinians and 100,000 Syrians fled or were expelled from the West Bank and the Golan Heights, respectively.Nasser resigned in shame following Israel's victory, but was later reinstated following a series of protests across Egypt.
- Israel ignored UN order and return the captured tarritory.
The yom Kippur War Or Ramadan War Or October War Or Fourth Arab-Israeli War
- The war began when Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack against Israel on October 6, 1973, which was the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
- The border strength was made due to the Young Keeper war holiday, and Egypt and Syria used this opportunity to launch an attack on Israel. It was the largest attack on the existence of Israel. This 18-day war completely changed the theory of modern world fair and the geo-politics of the Arab world. The Cuban Missile Crisis was one of the first events that led to conflict between the US and the USSR.
- The Arab states thought that the IDF would not be able to defend Israel on the holiest day of the Jewish year. The war ended on October 24, 1973, when a ceasefire was declared.
Operation Wrath Of God
- In the Bible, the wrath of God meaning is God's righteous judgment against those who do evil. Operation wrath of god was a covert assassination campaign led by Israel and its security agency, Mossad. The operation was also known as Operation Bayonet.
- In August 1972, Israel's Olympic team went to play in a city in West Germany called Munich, where the Summer Olympics were being held. 11 Israeli athletes were brutally murdered by Palestinian terrorist Black September at this summer's Olympics. After that a secret Israeli committee chaired by Prime Minister Golda Meir and Defense Minister Moshe Dayan said to have authorized the assassination of everyone directly or indirectly involved with Black September.
- The murder was avenged by Israel's secret service MOSSAD. This murder is the biggest revenge by Mossad in the history of the whole world, it took Mossad Israel's intelligence agency 20 years to complete this operation. 20 years Mossad traveled around the world to find people who were associated with this Black September, or who had any link associated with this Black September. It was suspected that there was any kind of contact and they were tracked down and killed. Killed someone by poisoning, or planting a bomb under someone's bed or shooting someone. And the most interesting fact is that 11 bullets were found in the bodies of those who were shot by MOSSAD , that is, each bullet is a gift from each player.
What will Israel do?
- Israel has increased the blockade on Gaza so that nothing can go in or out. And increase number of Air stick. In UN Israel's ambassador said that Israel want to eliminate all terrorist capability of hamas. But if Israel's objective is to eliminate hamas terrorist capabilities, it won't be through blockade or airstrikes because if it will happen then Israel will face international Pressure. Israel has only one way to achieve its objective. A major ground operation. But it won't be easy that why Israel withdraw from gaza in 2005. Because gaza is the one of the most densely populated area in the world. And it's very difficult to conduct military operation in urban areas. Israel used the same strategy in 2014 , named Operation edge that lasted for two weeks. More than 60 Israeli soldiers were killed in the operation and more 2000 Palestinian were killed. According to experts, after 2014 hamas has learn lots about a ground operation. Israel's threat is not only in gaza, it will came from two other place. First is northern border syria and lebanon. Because there is Hezbollah. Hezbollah's leader praised the hamas praised the hamas attack and warned other Arab countries not to normalized their relationship with Israel. And when he was talking about Arab countries, he was probably targeting Saudi Arabia. In 1978 when Israel occupied Southern Lebanon at that time hezbollah's main enemy was Israel. That's why many analyst argue that hezbollah create a Two-front war against Israel.
- Even before these attacks, violence was on the rise in the West Bank. Some analysts even said that a third intifada could start in the West Bank. Qatar is trying to solve this situation , where hamas' leader is based. Qatar has said that it's mediator between Israel and hamas . Qatar is a strange country, it's a friend of the US but Qatar also houses headquarters leaders of the taliban and hamas. Qatar's foreign policy is to remain a mediator.
Conclusion
- Netanyahu says that this is Israel's 9/11. But this is what happened after 9/11, after the end of American operation, the taliban regained power in Afghanistan. That's why many analyst say that Netanyahu only had bad options. And that is very important for us to understand that, it's even harder to understand that we can criticize hamas for it's terrorism and criticize Israel for it's occupation. But we can't justify hamas's actions through Israeli occupation.
